Guys and Girls…here I am, spreading abitta news, claiming some free advertising space, and ever so slightly on the scrounge!!
On Sunday 15th May this year 2016, a tractor road run, ‘Robs Run’, will be starting its journey from The Fox Inn at Roxby at 9.30am…the aim it to raise much needed funds for the Macmillan Nurses. The idea of the Road Run was born last year in memory of a popular and much loved local Mickleby man, Rob Norris who passed away in 2014 after battling cancer. He was cared for and supported throughout his illness by nurses from the Macmillan Cancer Support…and in return and in recognition of this his family are wanting to raise money in a way they know Rob himself would of loved.
Last year, over 80 tractors took part in the Road Run..and a fabulous £3500 was made. All those involved had a great day, and the event was such a success that they are hoping to not only match its success this year..but to beat it too!
So here i am…asking for your help! Please share the post. If anyone would like any flyers to help advertise the event then i’m sure that can be sorted. If anyone would like to partake in the Road Run i believe tickets are £20 and this includes bacon butties, cuppa, dinner and a raffle ticket. If you want to rock up to the pub on the day and cheer on and support the event and buy a few raffle tickets and sample a few pints…please do! But most of all…if anyone would like to donate to the event, or if anyone would like to donate some raffle prizes, then i am happy to collect these for the family.
As unfortunately we all know, cancer is something which affects us all in one way or another…and the work of the Macmillan nurses is priceless. Lets try and beat last years amazing effort…and show them, and Robs family our full support!
